Most people commission a tailored suit for workwear in Hong Kong. Because of their professions, they do not opt for a particular style and their request is simply a well-fitted suit that is difficult for us to visualise on a mannequin. This is a typical two-button medium grey all wool suit perfect for the office. In real practice we seldom specify a lapel width. We would pick the midway of the shoulder so the style can stand changes in fashion cycles. Normally the handmade buttonhole on the lapel is finished one and one eighth inch, a rather traditional practice that is hardly found now. We normally finish the cuff with kissing buttons yet this time our client opts for stacked buttons. The shoulder is lightly padded with custom-made sleeve heads. Our in-house buttons for the centre front are sized 34L. 32L are commonly used but the young customers are generally taller than the previous generation so we find slightly larger buttons are more appealing.
